Polywood and PolyLumber Colors
Poly Lumber is a high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic derived from post-consumer waste such as milk jugs and plastic packaging that would otherwise end up in a landfill. This material is then cleaned in a decontamination process to a high purity level. This purified recycled plastic is formulated with Ultra-Violet (UV) stabilizers and color pigments, and then formed into various shapes and profiles used to create beautiful and maintenence-free outdoor furniture.
We have been told repeatedly by our customers that the recycled plastic lumber resembles painted wood, without the maintenance of course. The UV stabilized color is consistent throughout the recycled plastic material with no wood fillers. Recycled Poly Lumber will not splinter, crack, rot, corrode or peel and never needs to be sealed, sanded or painted because it will not absorb liquid. This all weather recycled material is not affected by the elements, it can be left outdoors year around in any climate. HDPE recycled plastic is especially resistant to insects, fungi, oils and similar environmental issues. Despite being UV stabilized for superior fade resistance, it is possible that slight fading can occur. To prevent an discoloration, we suggest the furniture be covered when not in use.
